Global markets at multi year low

The economic crisis rippling through every country in the last one year, has pushed the global stock markets and commodity markets to record lows. The Dow Jones Index, S&P Index and the Nasdaq index hit a multi year low this month, due to continuing increase in job losses.
The Japan, China and other Asian stock markets were also seeing multi year lows this month due to crashing exports to US and Europe.
European markets were the worst in the pack with record lows being hit by almost every European stock market index. Given the huge job losses across the US and Europe, and continuing credit crunch, the stock markets might continue to remain subdued for some more time to come.
