32 UK billionaires become millionaries in 2008
Year 2008 has not only hit the poor people and the middle class, it has also hit the UK billionaires badly.
In 2007 there were 75 billionaires in UK which has crashed to just 43 by the end of 2008.
That means 32 erstwhile billionaires have seen part of their fortunes vanishing and they got downgraded to millionaires.
The top 1000 most richest people of UK saw their combined wealth crashing by nearly 40%, from 413 billion sterlings to 258 billion sterlings.
The Indian steel tycoon, Lakshmi Mittal and family are worth around 11 billion, down by nearly 60% in a year.
Most of the top 10 richest people have seen their fortunes vanishing due to the global turmoil. A smart recovery in the stock market only can help improve the fortunes of the richest people also.
