7 bank failures this week in US

The banks are continuing to crash down in US like a pack of cards, with seven banks closing down in the last one week alone. This has taken the total to 106 banks in 2009 so far, and that is over four times the 25 bank failures in the entire year 2008.
The number of bank failures in the coming months are expected to remain high due to business failures and individual job losses.
