First 100 days of Barack Obama
The revolutionary US President Barack Obama is set to face the critical review of his first 100 days in office. He is most likely to be rated reasonably high for his handling of economic crisis for the time being. But there is hardly any room for complacency. He is most likely to be rated very poorly by his own people, in case he is not able to turn around the US economy before the end of 2009.

He is also likely to be rated as average by the global agencies for his handling of the Afghanistan / Iraq / Pakistan issues. He again will be put to litmus test on his foreign policies almost on a monthly basis on these critical issues. And the perennial trouble spots like Iran and North Korea will continue to haunt him.
With burgeoning fiscal deficit and with crashing government tax revenues, he is most likely to take harsh measures sooner than later. He might most probably be forced to increase taxes and also allow few of the big poorly managed banks / financial institutions / insurance companies, if the economy does not turn around.
So we can expect Barack Obama to be ready to have many sleepless nights henceforth and he may not have time to read his first 100 days report card.
