The Iranian Presidential elections threw a shocking result for the majority of the population, when the government declared the incumbent President Ahmedinajed as the winner. And following the unexpected results, there was unrest and turmoil and protests and killings across the major cities.
The government initially agreed for a recounting in few major towns and after few days it declared again that the election results are valid. It also went ahead and arrested over 1000 protesters.
After detaining them for over four weeks, the government has yesterday released 140 people and is likely to release the remaining people also over the coming days. All the major Iran cities are now functioning normally without any protests and unrest.
