The Afghanistan people might have to live with Hamid Karzai as their President for another four years, because as per latest information, he has cornered over 48% of the polled votes. He is far ahead of his competitor, Abdullah Abdullah who could only get 32% of the votes.
Afghanistan is already facing tough problems in the last four months, ever since Obama became US President. There has been a marked shift in the US approach to Afghanistan problem, and there has been troop withdrawals by UK and other countries also in the last few months.
All these does not augur well for Afghanistan, and also for the rest of the world, because a weak Afghanistan would only help the islamic terrorists to spread terror across the globe.
