Top energy consumer is China
The world’s largest energy consumer U.S is overtaken by China announced the International Energy Agency.
The report of the largest energy consumer was announced on Tuesday last week. The reports were being immediately questioned by China to prove the calculations which was unbelievable. The agency described the year 2009 consumption of energy according to different sources like oil,coal wind and solar power.
In the year 2009 the consumption of energy was 2.265 billion tonnes of oil whereas the energy consumption
in U.S was 2.169 tonnes for a year. As time passed China pointed the energy consumption patterns of the developed nations during the climate change talks. The energy prices in the China market has even increased in the recent years. At present China is the number one polluter around the globe compared to all the nations.
International Energy agency within a decade the energy consumption of China has been doubled. during 2000 year the energy consumption of China was 1.107 and by increasing population the consumption has increased to 11.9%. US consumes five times more power than China Per Capita says the economist Fatih Birol. The energy consumption in China has increased as urbanisation in China has reached even the prosperous farmers.
So China is leading the world in energy consumption also now. It will take another three to five years for China to become the world’s largest energy producer.
