Dangers of using tobacco
Tobacco has many ingredients like nicotine, carbon monoxide, tar, and many irritant gases. Nicotine is a silent killer as the substance is immediately absorbed by the lungs and reaches the brain within few seconds. Nicotine affects the circulatory system and nervous system and raises the blood pressure and pulse rate. Nicotine can act like a stimulant when the amount taken is small, nicotine acts like a tranquilizer when taken in large quantity. When nicotine is swallowed while smoking, it is known to cause sedative effects which is dangerous.
Carbon monoxide is the ingredient which reduces the oxygen supply to the tissue and is present in tobacco. We know that blood carries oxygen according to its capacity, this capacity is altered when carbon monoxide affects the blood. Carbon monoxide presence in tobacco is high and can have some initial symptoms like suffocation, discomfort, sneezing, cold, clot formation, aggregation of platelets and last heart attack. Tar another substance contained in tobacco is responsible for carcinogenicity, caused due to smoking.
Tobacco usage can cause circulatory diseases like coronary heart disease, stroke, and variety of cardiovascular disease. Many cancers like lung, larynx, mouth, liver, kidney, bladder and leukemia is common in those who smoke or chew tobacco. Much chronic disease like bronchitis, emphysema, asthma, peptic ulcers and acidity can be the benefit attained by using tobacco. Those who are not able to get rid of tobacco addiction can get rid of their habit by keeping in touch withed addiction centre. Many herbal medicines can be replaced by tobacco chewing and some medicines can be taken.
