The world’s first nation to build nuclear power space for interplanetary flights is Russia.

The Russian government has given around $17 million in 2010 for this project.

In 2010 designing the nuclear engine and a space craft will take place.

The space craft draft design will be ready by 2012 and actual model will be developed by 2018.

The cost of the whole project is expected to be around $600 million.

The Russia spacecraft agency Roskomos said that nuclear engines are must for the flights to mars and the planets.

The nuclear engines is a promising area and much growth is estimated in these fields.

The Keldysh centre for rocket engines and Energiya Space Corporation will design the Megawatt class nuclear electric propulsion.

The nuclear powered spacecraft is necessary for space travels and Russia has half century experience in this area.
