Correcting astigmatism
When we have refractive errors in our natural eye lens or have astigmatism, then we suffer from blurred vision due to light not bend properly by the surface of the cornea or lens. In these conditions the surface of the cornea would be irregular, thereby causing blurred vision. To correct these irregularities, the optometrist would recommend corrective eyeglasses to have clear vision. The lens of the eyeglasses would rectify the error and we can see the objects clearly through the eyeglasses.
These conditions are common with adults and are seen in children too.
