How to stay away from Diabetes

White rice is the daily need among most of the Asians especially Indians. The scientists say that white rice could raise the diabetes risk among people. Type 2 diabetes may be developed by those who have the habit of eating white rice. The brown rice eating will actually reduce the diabetes type 2 among the people .The study was being done by the university of Harvard school of public health. The study showed that having two or more servings of rice per week could leave us with higher risk of diabetes.

The diabetes risk among white rice and brown rice was being studied in the study. The consumption of rice has dramatically increased in recent decade in US and different countries.Type2 diabetes could be considerably reduced by consuming other refined grains, whole grains and replacing white rice with brown rice. The fiber content, minerals, phytochemical, minerals and blood sugar content is more in brown rice than white rice. Most of the essential minerals are removed when the brown rice is milled and polished.

The main person in the study was Qi Sun who lead the team of other professors. The rush of sugar in the blood is reduced in brown rice which will help in reduction of diabetes. The volunteers who participated in the study were some 157,463 women and 39,765 men. The study analyzed the diet, lifestyle, age, body mass, smoking status ,alcohol intake family hereditary and health among the participants for four years.
