But when you are using your debit, you have to doubly careful, since the debit card is directly linked to your account. There are fewer protections on the debit card than on the credit card. There are some occasion where using debit cards may not be wise.
Do not use your debit card online. Since the debit card is directly linked to your bank account, the details of may be captured or site hacked. You might be caught unaware. It is better to use credit card when you do transaction online. Do not use debit card to buy big ticket items. Do not use debit card where there is deposit required. Do not use debit card in restaurants. You may not see the payment process yourself. Do not use debit card when you are a new user. Do not use debit card when the transaction is buy now and delivery later. Do not use debit cards for recurring payments, at gas stations and petrol pumps, for future travels, checkouts and ATMs that are not in safe locations.
